Dopo un po’ di problemi tecnici, finalmente i nostri sistemi VAX\/VMS sono nuovamente online, sotto forma di emulazione SimH. Grazie agli sforzi combinati di Parazyd, Katolaz, Gerry, Mancausoft, Roadstar, Zappolo, ed alle donazioni combinate di hardware da parte di Francesco, Simone, Alessio e Domenico!<\/p>\n

Abbiamo deciso di emulare i sistemi e mettere da parte i computer reali per preservarne l’hardware:<\/p>\n

GLORGHNORTH<\/strong>, un VAXStation 4000\/96<\/strong>, e’ un pezzo unico, e sarebbe troppo rischioso tenerla accesa per offrire accessi free.<\/p>\n

SNORRVIJOIER<\/strong> invece e’ un MicroVAX 3100\/40<\/strong> – ne abbiamo diversi, ma uno e’ gia’ deceduto (problemi alla motherboard!) mentre un secondo ha dato gravi problemi alle memorie RAM, se ne sono bruciate diverse e cosi’ abbiamo preferito emulare anche questo.<\/p>\n

Ora i due sistemi sono nuovamente online nella loro forma emulata, dopo aver fatto le immagini esatte dei loro dischi di sistema, connessi come sempre alla rete amatoriale RETRO-DECNET<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Per l’occasione abbiamo corretto alcuni bug nei giochi gia’ installati, ne stiamo installando altri (storici) ed abbiamo anche installato su entrambi un meraviglioso browser GOPHER!<\/p>\n
